The stimulus for this WOD is to activate your quads and anaeurobic conditioning to mimic high intensity riding while snowboarding.  For surfing this will mimic fast waves and condition your breathing for stronger paddling.

Conditioning the areas of your body you use the most in this type of sport will provide you to have more control at higher speeds on more technical/demanding runs.
