Homemade Recovery Tonic

If you're like me, you are always looking for a faster way to recover after your grueling workouts or outdoor sports sessions.  You go hard, have an awesome time and want to be able to do it again the next day, but without the muscle ache and fatigue.  I'm not going to say that we found the solution for these ailments, but maybe something that will take the edge off.  I'm no Snake Oil Salesman, but every bit helps, right?

Alright, enough talking, let's get to the bones of what this tonic contains and how I use it.  It's super simple to make with only a few ingredients, but they are potent:

Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw, Organic, with the Mother) - The benefits are numerous including immune system support, joint and cartilage support, improves insulin sensitivity, improves heart health, anti-aging properties, cancel cell fighter to name a few.

Ginger - Anti-inflammatory, improves digestion, supports cardiovascular health, pain and soreness reducer in muscles, active electrolyte.

Cayenne - Metabolism booster, anti-inflammatory, lowers blood pressure, improves digestion, strong antioxidant.

Turmeric - Anti-inflammatory, boosts immunity, improves digestion, natural painkiller, protects lungs (the active ingredient curcumin has been shown to inhibit airway inflammation).

Himalayan Salt - Electrolyte, ph balancer (alkaline/acidity), metabolic aid, strengthens bones, muscle cramping inhibitor.

As you can see the list isn't long, but the potency of each of these ingredients is off the scale, each having a long resume of beneficial properties.

The Process (All Ingredients are Organic)

1/2 Cup of Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother, Organic, Raw and Unfiltered

1 Tsp Turmeric Powder

1 Tsp Ginger Powder

1/2 Tsp Cayenne Powder

1/4 Tsp Himalayan Salt

Mix all ingredients in a shaker and pour into 2 - 2oz. dropper bottles

The way I take it are two ways.  I mix 5-6 full drops in my morning vitamin shake every single morning.  The second way is 5-6 full drops in my post workout/exercise recovery drink, which in this case is FitAid by Lifeaid Beverage Company out of Santa Cruz, CA.  This is an excellent post recovery beverage, tastes great, clean ingredients and we take it after any sort of intense exercise.  Adding the tonic to this drink just ups the intensity and recovery properties of the beverage.  If you want to really increase the healing, add a dropper full of CBD tincture and you are at a whole new level.

Remember to shake the dropper bottle before using to make sure you get all the good stuff since the sediment likes to sit on the bottom.

It's a simple mix of potent ingredients to keep you going after it day in and day out. We hope you enjoy this little nugget of recovery-ism!
